Biography

DAVID ORENTREICH, MD Growing up in the midst of a busy and successful dermatological medical practice, David Orentreich determined at an early age that he, too, would become a dermatological surgeon. Upon graduating from New York’s Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons (1980), He served his internship at Roosevelt Hospital (1980-1981) and his residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center (1981-1984). In 1984, Dr. Orentreich, newly Board Certified dermatologist, entered the family medical practice. As a partner in the Orentreich Medical Group (OMG), and the Associate Director of the Orentreich Foundation for the Advancement of Science (OFAS), Dr. David Orentreich has helped create and develop numerous therapeutic procedures and maintenance treatments for the skin, hair, and nails of his patients, and has patented myriad medicines and medical devices for the rejuvenation of scarred and aging skin. In addition to his daily clinical work, Dr. Orentreich holds the appointment of Assistant Clinical Professor, Department of Dermatology to the Mount Sinai School of Medicine and the hospital appointment of Assisting Attending, Department of Dermatology to Mount Sinai Hospital. In his capacity as one of the nations leading dermatologists, Dr. Orentreich lectures nationally and internationally on current medical and surgical procedures that OMG and OFAS are developing. Recently, he lectured both in the U.S.A. and Europe, on “Subcision®”, a procedure he developed for reversing depressions in the skin caused by acne, pockmarks, or wrinkles. Most recently, he has published a number of articles in professional journals on the use of Liquid Injectable Silicone. He has also appeared on such national television programs as NBC’s “Today” Show. Dr. David Orentreich alone or in collaboration with his father, Dr. Norman Orentreich, and other scientists at OFAS, has written many articles and individual chapters for publication in English and foreign language medical textbooks and journals.
